Presidential hopefuls and political movements discuss unifying demands

Following an invitation from the Revolution Youth Coalition, a number of presidential hopefuls and representatives of the various political movements held a meeting at the Journalists Syndicate on Wednesday with the goal of unifying their demands.
Myriad demands include holding just trials, achieving social justice, sharing in the decision making process and formulating a timetable for achieving the revolution's goals.
The meeting included presidential hopefuls Amr Moussa, Hamdeen Sabahy, Ayman Nour, and Hesham el-Bastawisi, as well as former MP Alaa Abdel Moneim and Wafd Party member Mostafa Gendy.
According to Sabahy, during the meeting, the attendees discussed their visions for a coalition government which would include representatives from each political movement. Amr Moussa said the meeting was held to discuss different opinions of the current protests, in order to prevent any setbacks in the revolution. Moussa expressed his support for the demonstrations, saying they represented freedom of expression.
“We need a political government with the authority to perform its job,” Moussa said.
Nour called for million man protests each Friday to maintain pressure on the ruling Supreme Council of the Armed Forces until of the revolution's demands are achieved.
He rejected the idea of setting up a coalition government, saying his Ghad Party would not support any such idea. He also warned of the revolution turning into a coup d'etat, since few of its demands have been realized until now.
Meanwhile, Nasserist Party Head Sameh Ashour demanded that ousted President Hosni Mubarak be tried in military court for killing protesters.
