An Egyptian man was admitted to hospital in Kuwait after he was reportedly tortured by three bedoun in front of their home in Salibeya region. They cut off one of the man's ears and beat him savagely. Kuwaiti sources said the assailants likely caught the Egyptian inside their home. The Kuwaiti Interior Ministry received a report from several people on Friday who said they found an Egyptian man lying on the ground covered in blood after he was attacked by three people. Police cars and an ambulance rushed to the man's rescue, and he was admitted to the intensive care unit at Qarwaneya hospital. The assailants were aged between 20 and 25. A Kuwaiti security source said the victim is an Egyptian who works at a newspaper and was probably beaten after he was caught in the home of one of the three bedoun. The bedoun are stateless persons, and the name comes the Arabic word “without nationality.” The term is used mostly in Kuwait, a country with the large bedoun population. In May 2010, a 38-year-old Egyptian man was lynched in Lebanon by angry villagers who accused him of killing a local couple and their two grandchildren. Translated from the Arabic Edition
