Al-Misri al-Yaum Publishing the South African Police Report Acquitting the Egyptian National Football Team from the "Night Girls" accusation
Published in Almasry Alyoum on 01 - 07 - 2009

A state of fury and resentment dominated the Egyptian TV delegation taking part in the intercontinental world cup championship. Meanwhile some of the TV team members are said to intend to submit complaints to the attorney general. This is pertaining to some of the Egyptian team fans accused of attacking the TV team members. The complaints are also calling for investigating Al-Hayah satellite channel monopolizing of the national team delegation TV interviews for LE one million.
Meanwhile, the South African police have acquitted the national team members from the night girls-arisen story. However, some sources mentioned that an Egyptian ambassador is intended to take legal actions against the papers which have publicized the case without apologizing afterwards.
Concerning the stolen money accident that happened to the national Egyptian football team in South Africa, an informative statement, released by the South African investigation committee, pointed out that the investigations concluded that the monitoring cameras at Brituria Wonderers hotel, where the Egyptian football team members stayed during their participation in the championship, didn't spot any woman entering into any of the players' rooms, except the hotel staff who are allowed in. Besides, the investigations also proved that there is no evidence for drinking any alcoholic by the players.
Al-Misri Al-Yaum got a copy of the report which was released last Monday revealing that the South African investigation authorities filed 28 written testimonies from the complainers and witnesses.
Consequently, they copied the fingerprints in the players' rooms, checked the lockers and drawers, and interrogated and polygraphed everyone who entered there, when the players were out. According to the report, the authorities also cooperated with the hotel administration in surveying the monitoring cameras at the reception area, in the corridors leading to the players' rooms and from other different angels.
The investigations' findings concluded to NO suspect found.  Consequently, the hotel staff, which entered the players' rooms, were discharged; otherwise, no other fingerprints were detected. The findings also concluded that the lockers were not illicitly opened. Finally, the report mentioned that such types of accidents are just secondary crimes and cannot be regarded as major security cases.
Andrea Bruy, Head of the National Joint investigation committee, national commissioner deputy, said " the South African police are very thankful and grateful to the Egyptian ambassador and his crew" , " however the investigation team should be congratulated for finishing their task under the pressure and scrutiny of the international press" added Bruy.
The day before yesterday, a press conference was held in Brituriya, attended by the Egyptian ambassador to South Africa Muhammad Badr-al-Din. The conference handled the investigations' findings regarding the accident pertaining to stealing sums of money from the Egyptian players' rooms. The case was reported on the June 18th when the national Egyptian football team was performing against the Italian one. During the meeting, the investigation committee showed some captures spotted by the monitoring cameras at the hotel.
Some sources mentioned that the Egyptian ambassador emphasized Egypt's support to South Africa for hosting the world cup 2010. According to the sources, the ambassador said that the papers which accused the Egyptian players of hanging out with night girls must present an apology suiting Egypt's position and its national team; otherwise, the Egyptian embassy will take all the legal actions against those papers.
Al-Misri Al-Yam was informed that some members of the Egyptian TV delegation want to submit complaints to the attorney general. The complaints are to bring legal actions against some Egyptian team fans who attacked the TV team members.
The TV members also want to sue the host Ahmad Shubir for insulting them. Moreover, some news has revealed that some of the TV members are calling for investigating on monopolizing the Egyptian team TV interviews by Al-Hayah satellite channel for LE one million.
