Cairo - Marsa Matrouh Governor Alaa Abu Zeid said Marsa Matrouh International Airport received, on Wednesday, 183 Italian tourists who arrived on board a charter flight coming from Rome. Marsa Matruh is a major tourist resort and serves as a getaway resort for Europeans. It is served by Marsa Matruh Airport. The city features soft white sand beaches and calm transparent waters; the bay is protected from the high seas by a series of rocks forming a natural breakwater, with a small opening to allow access for light vessels. In statements on Wednesday, Matrouh governor said the number of flights will be increased to reach three flights weekly coming from Rome. The tourists will visit the most famous tourist attractions in the governorate, Siwa Oasis and the North Coast. The governor also noted that the tourists will also be offered tours of several tourist attractions.
