Cairo - Al-Azhar and its Grand Imam Dr Ahmed el Tayyeb has strongly condemned a terrorist attack that targeted worshipers as they were leaving a mosque in London. A van rammed into a crowd of worshipers on Monday near a mosque in north London, killing one and injuring 10 others. In a statement Monday, Al-Azhar denounced the heinous attack, urging the Western countries to take all the necessary precautionary measures which put an end to Islamophobia and ensure that such incidents which target Muslims will not be repeated. Al-Azhar also extended deep condolences to the family of the victim and wished speedy recovery to the injured.
