Cairo - Social Solidarity Minister Ghada Wali has chaired a meeting of a committee formed to address any problems facing the Egyptian community in Qatar after a decision by Cairo and other Arab countries to cut relations with Doha. During the meeting, which was held last night, Wali estimated the number of Egyptian expats in the Gulf state at 250,000-300,000. She assured that their conditions are stable, with the panel intensively following the situation. The committee comprised the minister of immigration and affairs of Egyptian expats along with representatives of the foreign, defense and interior ministries, the general intelligence agency and EgyptAir. Wali stressed that the panel is ready to solve any possible problem. EgyptAir Airlines chairman Sherif Ezzat said the flag carrier is coordinating with other Arab airlines to increase flights to the nearest transit points to Egyptians living in Qatar.
