Cairo - Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said on Tuesday that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's visit to Germany, during which he participated in the G20 Africa Partnership Conference, was so positive. Shoukry also affirmed the joint desire by Cairo and Berlin to promote bilateral cooperation at all levels. The minister's remarks were made as part of his statements to members of the Egyptian media delegation accompanying President Sisi during the visit. The G20 Africa Partnership Conference was a chance for African leaders to sit down and talk about issues of concern for the continent in addition to the challenges it faces with a high level of transparency. On that score, the Egyptian top diplomat pointed to Germany's readiness to support investments in Africa. Asked about whether the Egyptian and German officials discussed the issue of cutting ties with Qatar, Shoukry said the matter was reviewed and Berlin did not have an opposite viewpoint from that of Egypt and the rest of Arab nations that severed relations with Doha. Berlin appreciates the Egyptian and Arab vision and stance in dealing decisively with those who fund terrorism, he said.
