Cairo - At least 23 people, mostly children and young teens, have been killed and 59 injured in a suicide bombing at a crowded pop concert in Manchester, the most deadly attack in Britain in a decade, the British daily newspaper, the Guardian reported. The Al-Azhar has strongly condemned the terrorist bombing which claimed peaceful, innocent lives. Heartfelt condolences are being sent to the grieving families of the victims and to the people of Britain at large, reiterating its calls for much-needed concerted efforts and international collaboration so as to work out a solid, global strategy to counter the scourge of terrorism which has become a growing menace to the entire world. Al-Azhar emphatically reiterated its condemnation of this heinous criminal act, which is categorically rejected by all religions, human values and norms, stressing that shedding the blood of innocent civilians and terrorizing safe communities is proof that the perpetrators of this attack are stripped of all humanity. The Al-Azhar also reiterated its call for the need for concerted efforts and international cooperation to besiege terrorism, to drain its sources and to develop a global strategy to confront it after it has become a rapidly growing menace to the whole world. In a Tuesday morning press statement, the Al-Azhar spokesperson stated that terrorizing and shedding the blood of innocent people are acts that all divinely-revealed laws, values, human principles and international laws have explicitly prohibited.
