MP Abdel Rehim Ali, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of Al-Bawaba newspaper, denounced the confiscation of Al-Bawaba newspaper's Monday issue, in a statement to parliamentary reporters. The blocked issue pointed to "security failure" of the minister of interior in relation to the bombing of two Coptic Orthodox churches that left dozens dead and scores injured on Palm Sunday. Ali told the reporters, he insists on issuing the same headlines of the banned issue, saying: "I will re-publish the same headline in the newspaper every day, even if this costs my life." The founder of Al-Bawaba asserted his keenness to the national security of Egypt, adding that "no one can threaten the Egyptian press, even the interior minister, who violated the Constitution and confiscated the newspaper for criticizing him." Ali accused the interior minister of dereliction of duty for failing to secure the Egyptian churches, and allowed the terrorists to reach Nile Delta. On the other hand, Ali criticized the Prime Minister's approval of the three-month state of emergency, declared by President Abdel Fattah AL-Sisi, in the absence of members of Parliament. The newspaper is headed by its founder MP and journalist Abdel-Rehim Ali, a strong opponent of the Muslim Brotherhood and extremism.
