Is there internal conflict within the Muslim Brotherhood?
Published in Albawaba on 04 - 02 - 2017

London - There are attempts supported by international actors to gather up the diaspora of the Banned Muslim Brotherhood (MB) group, after it was split into two teams, the first led by the acting Muslim Brotherhood Guide, 'Mahmoud Ezzat', and the second was led by the Brotherhood high-rank member 'Mohamed Kamal' who was killed in a fire exchange with the Egyptian Police.
Those attempts were led by the head of International Federation of Muslim Scholars, 'Youssef Al-Qaradawy', who is of Egyptian origin and who held many interviews in Qatar with the both teams in addition to the leader in the International Brotherhood Organization, 'Ibrahim Monr', who is the most senior member of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood in the United Kingdom he is currently the Secretary General of the International Organisation of the Muslim Brotherhood and the spokesman for the Muslim Brotherhood in the West.
Those endeavours depend on effecting a change in the top Leadership of the Brotherhood Group by pushing the middle generation together with conducting revisions in the Brotherhood Strategy for calming down with the Egyptian Authority and trying to reach understanding with them.
"The Brotherhood Group" Leader, with whom "Al-Hayah" had a phone call, ruled out "the occurrence of an imminent breakthrough in the relationship with the Brotherhood because the situation is the same either through prosecutions conducted to the Brotherhood abroad or tightening on those imprisoned". Yet, the Leader affirmed that the team of 'Mahmoud Ezzat' is controlling the affairs within the Organization and has the ability to effect a negotiation".
In an Article published in a Website thought to be belonging to the Brotherhood, "The Brotherhood" Guidance Office member, 'Gamal Heshmat', who is considered one of the reformation wing of the Group, counted the mistakes The Group Leadership committed since January 25th Revolution and criticized "utilizing the mobilization policy in replying to the opponents, indicating also to the fact that "after the Revolution, most of the founders of the Brotherhood were overwhelmed by an exaggerated strange feeling that they were in the beginning of the empowerment, even, some of them felt that they become a substitute to the National Democratic Party, especially after the Presidency elections in terms of power and authority. As a result, there were many problems such as feeling that the Brotherhood shouldered the responsibility of Egypt alone which was a heavy task no faction, party or group could never bear alone.

'Heshmat' also criticized the Group Leaders for "the scarcity of information which was a feature of the Organizations which used to work confidentially. Monopolizing the information even on the highest levels which were the owner of the decision, was so strange as it led to ambiguity and obscurity around what really happened in reality, with regard to field work, political interviews or preparations". 'Heshmat' also criticized allying with the Salafi groups.

The Researcher of Al-Ahram Center for Political and Strategic Studies, 'Ahmed Kamel Al-Beheiry' asserted that both of the two teams "possess powerful playing cards; 'Ezzat' team was the strongest on the financial level since it was the most dominant on the Group economy as well as the most communicative with the International Community. But, on the contrary, it did not have the complete dominance over the Youth Sectors and The Middle Generation as opposed to 'Mohamed Kamal's team''.
He also saw that there are attempts within the halls in Qatar and Turkey with the purpose of collecting the Diaspora of the Brotherhood, taking into consideration that the Group was previously led wrongly and changes in the leadership should be conducted by encouraging the middle generation to come to the top". He also hinted to the fact that "there is eminent possibility of the occurrence of a dialogue between the Group and the Authority in Egypt in terms of the victory of the regime, the admittance of the Group with its legitimacy and their acceptance of its terms.
