Addis Ababa - Egypt's President 'Abdel Fattah al-Sisi' stressed Egypt's keenness on promoting ties with Congo-Brazzaville in all fields. Sisi made the remark at a meeting with Congo-Brazzaville's President Denis Sassou Nguesso, on the sidelines of the 28thAfrican Summit, slated for Monday in Ethiopia. During the meeting, Sisi hailed the distinguished relations between both sides, Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef said. He stressed that Egypt is keen on providing technical and development support for Congo, the spokesman noted. Nguesso, for his part, praised the Egyptian leadership and people as well as the country's role in the Middle East and Africa. The latest developments in Africa, mainly the situation in Libya were discussed at the meeting, Youssef noted. Sisi arrived in Addis Ababa on Sunday to take part in the two-day event, to be held at the African Union (AU) headquarters. Also, Sisi met with his Kenyan counterpart Uhuru Kenyatta on the sidelines of the summit. President Sisi hailed relations binding Egypt and Kenya, affirming Egypt's keenness on boosting joint cooperation at all levels, Youssef said. President Sisi underlined the need to enhance trade exchange between the two countries and maximize the benefit of their membership in the Common Market for Southern and Eastern Africa (COMESA). Sisi added that common challenges facing the African continent, including terrorism as well as development requirements, highlight the necessity to intensify cooperation among African countries to serve the best interests of the African peoples. For his part, Kenyatta hailed relations between his country and Egypt, as well as Egypt's support for the struggle of the Kenyan people to gain independence in the past century. He invited Sisi to visit Kenya to discuss means of enhancing current cooperation in several domains. Sisi, who accepted the invitation, also invited Kenyatta to visit Egypt, the spokesman concluded.
