Al Azhar Grand Imam, Ahmed Al Tayeb arrived Monday in Nigeria, in a three-day visit to meet a number of senior Nigerian officials, Al Bawaba News reported. Al Tayeb is expected to meet with Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari and a number of religious figures and government officials, as he is scheduled to make a speech about tolerance of Islam. The Grand Imam of Al Azhar will shed light on ways to advocate the values, teachings, nature and tolerance of Islam, as well as peaceful coexistence, in an attempt to combat extremist ideas, which are used by terrorist groups, such as Islamic State (IS) to spread violence and recruit fighters.
