Al Azhar's Grand Imam Ahmed Al Tayeb expressed his institution's readiness to cooperate with the German government to confront the extremist ideas, Al Bawaba News reported on Tuesday. He added that Azhar is ready to provide training opportunities to the German preachers to increase their awareness over the importance of moderate religious speech and the ways to refute the extremist ideas. The statements came during the meeting between Tayeb and Egypt's new Ambassador to Berlin Badr Abdel Atty on Tuesday. The Egyptian diplomat stressed his appreciation to Azhar's role to promote the moderate Islamic teachings. He added that there is a need for coordinating and contacting with the Islamic institution to exchange the visions over the developments in the international community.
