Egypt's Al-Azhar Grand Imam, Ahmed al-Tayeb topped a high-profile delegation to the Indonesian capital, Jakarta, for a global speech to Asia and Muslims worldwide, Al-Bawaba News reported Sunday. During the visit, al-Tayeb will meet Indonesian President, Joko Widodo and a number of senior Indonesian officials. The grand imam's expected speech will be delivered from the University of Indonesia. He will attend a Muslim Wise Men Council summit in Jakarta over the latest crises facing the Islamic nation. It is scheduled for al-Tayeb to receive honorary doctorate Prize in recognition of his contributions to spread values of tolerant Islam, Al-Azhar Institution announced. A delegation of Indonesian Al-Azhar scholars saw al-Tayeb off before his visit.
