Spokesman for ministry of foreign affairs, Ahmed Abu Zeid announced Saturday that minister, Sameh Shoukry met his US counterpart, John Kerry, during his visit to Washington, Youm7 News reported. Kerry had asked Shoukry to hold a bilateral meeting, after the conclusion of the Egyptian minister's visit to United Nations' headquarters in New York. Abu Zeid revealed that the prolonged meeting between both sides dealt with all aspects of the US-Egyptian relations and ways to boost them, in addition to working together on means to serve the best interests of the two countries. The meeting also tackled coordinating positions on important regional issues, such as the security situation in Libya, Syria, as well as the preparations for International Peace Conference in France. Furthermore, the meeting discussed ways to solve the security crises in regional countries, including Syria and Libya. Both diplomats agreed to continue consultations between the two countries in the coming period.
