Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) will pump Tuesday, about $40 million to banks operating in the domestic market in the periodic dollar bid, Youm7 reported Tuesday. CBE sold in Sunday's periodic dollar bid about $39.1 million at the value of 7.7301 pounds to the dollar. CBE gave the banks operating in the domestic market $11.6 billion over the past three months to cover import demands for commodities and raw materials and to pay the dues to foreign investors in the Egyptian capital market.
