President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi received Monday a phone call from Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss the latest security developments in the region, Al Bawaba News reported. Spokesman for presidency, Ambassador Alaa Youssef said that the discussion tackled latest security developments in the region and counter-terrorism efforts. Youssef pointed out that the two leaders also discussed ways to support the ceasefire agreement between opposition forces and Syrian President Bashar Al Assad's forces in Syria, as well as the ways to eliminate the threat of Islamic State (IS). Al Sisi praised the role of both Russia and the United States in temporary halting all hostile operations between opposition forces and Al Assad's forces in Syria, Youssef stressed. Putin and Al Sisi also reviewed means to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries, particularly in light of the significant boost that occurred recently, between both countries on the political and economic levels, Youssef added.
