Egypt's Minister of Health Khaled Abdel Ghaffar met representatives of the Ningbo Clinical Pathology Diagnostic Centre in China on Sunday to discuss cooperation in digital diagnostics and artificial intelligence applications in healthcare, the ministry said. The talks, held on the sidelines of the Huawei Connect 2025 Conference in Shanghai, focused on training programmes for pathology specialists, knowledge exchange, and expanding the use of AI in cancer detection and molecular disease research, the statement added. The officials also discussed creating a remote digital consultation platform to enable joint review of complex cases and provide second opinions online. Abdel Ghaffar toured the Ningbo centre to examine its service management systems. The Chinese centre was invited to Egypt to launch a pilot project in digital pathology services before rolling them out in several Ministry of Health hospitals, the statement said.
