Minister of Defense and Military Production, Sedky Sobhy met Monday a number of commanders, officers and soldiers, in the southern military region, to raise the personnel's morale, Al-Bawaba News reported. Southern military region's personnel are seeking to achieve the highest rates of combat readiness to defend the homeland's security and stability, Commander of Southern Military Region Yahya Taha said. History proves every day that the Egyptian army is one of the greatest armies in the whole world, derives its strength from its people to build a strong modern Egypt in all fields, Minister of Defense said. "Homeland defense and protecting the national security is a sacred mission that the armed forces personnel were sworn to adhere to, " Minister of Defense said, pointing out to the risks and challenges that facing the Egyptian state on both internal and external, which must be faced by the army along with its people. Sobhy also called on the armed forces personnel to be alert and ready, and to maintain their highest standards of efficiency and combat readiness as well as developing their fighting skills. At the end of the meeting, Sobhy honored the outstanding officers and soldiers in recognition of their excellence and dedication in the performance of their duties during the last period.
