Minister of Defense and Military Production Sedky Sobhy said Tuesday that the armed forces fight against terrorism and defend Egypt's security and stability, Al Bawaba News reported. Sobhi praised Egypt's Rapid Deployment Forces efforts to combat terrorism due to its capability to implement the most difficult tasks under different circumstances. He also praised the effort of armed forces and police personnel in confronting the terrorists and other challenges threatening Egypt's national security, stressing that these challenges require high performance in order to prevent any threat. Since September 2013, the Egyptian army has been carrying out an ongoing military campaign against terrorist groups after they claimed responsibility for several deadly attacks targeting Egyptian military and police personnel.
