Bomb squad defuses IED in Alexandria

Police bomb squad defused Sunday an improvised explosive device (IED) that was planted by unidentified suspects under a vehicle transporting cash at Ahmed Zewail Square in Wabour Al-Meyah district, Alexandria governorate.
No injuries or casualties were reported. Security forces, accompanied by bomb squad, moved quickly to the crime scene and set up a security cordon to search for other potential threats, Al-Bawaba News reported.
Panic spread among the residents of the surrounding area, however, the bomb squad was able to successfully and safely defuse the IED, and restore peace and comfort to the residents.
