Official Facebook page of famous restaurant Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) posted Monday a series of photos of a person who looks similar to the owner, Colonel Kentucky in streets of Cairo, next to many tourist attractions and monuments. He was pictured standing on Qasr Al Nil Bridge and Corniche, as well as the obelisk garden in Al Jazeera district, Youm7 News reported. The page wrote: "A warm welcome to the Colonel in Egypt!" on the posted pictures. The visit comes in light of efforts to revive tourism in Egypt, after it suffered greatly, as a result of the Russian civilian plane crash that took place in Sinai, in October 2015. The owner of the restaurant, Colonel Harland Sanders, who was known as Colonel Kentucky, died in 1980.
