Some 22,370 people have been killed or injured as a result of acts of terrorism, violence and armed conflict in Iraq, the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) said in a statement Friday. UNAMI said violence in Iraq had claimed the lives of 980 Iraqis in total in December 2015 alone. Baghdad, Ninevah, Salahuddin and Kirkuk were the worst-affeced provinces last year. "The year 2015 has seen thousands of Iraqis killed and injured as a result of conflict and terrorism. This is unacceptable," Jan Kubis, Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Iraq, said in the statement.
