The death toll of torrential rains in Beheira, northwestern Egypt, that swept the governorate Thursday reached 18 persons, six of them were electrocuted, Youm7 news reported Saturday. On the other hand, death toll of Afouna village in Beheria Governorate, reached 31 persons, where torrents damaged the infra-structure of the village and submerged the houses, demolishing at least 20 houses. Egypt's coastal governorates were swept by heavy torrents in the last few days, leaving several deaths due to technical problems with rainwater drainage system.
