The Egyptian Armed Forces in cooperation with the police will secure the parliamentary elections to be held on Sunday and Monday in 103 main committees and 13,485 subcommittee as well as 5460 polling stations in 14 governorates, according to a military statement released by the army spokesperson on Saturday. A total of 76,000 central army forces will be deployed in the governorates of Giza, Fayoum, Beni Suef and Minya. Another 38,000 personnel from the Naval Forces will be distributed in Alexandria and Beheira, 8,000 in Matruh and 17,000 in the governorates of Assiut, Sohag, Qena, Aswan, New Wadi. The security presence was to be reinforced outside polling stations and that security personnel were not allowed inside, unless requested by the judge in charge of the polling place, according to the interior ministry.
