Minister of Endowments, Mohamed Mukhtar Goma'a, said that the conference titled "Vision of imams and preachers to renew religious discourse and dismantle extremist ideology", organized by the ministry, is a part of an integrated plan pursued by the ministry for the renewal of religious discourse and refuting extremist ideology, Al-Bawaba News reported Monday. He said in a statement to the state-run Middle East News Agency (MENA), that the conference was held in the city of Luxor to support the Egyptian tourism and send a clear message that Egypt is a secure and safe country, and that Islam preserves the humanitarian and cultural monuments, as well as the practical response to ISIS' pretentious allegations who plunder and destroy both Iraq and Syria's monuments. He continued: "We hope to offer a new vision about the dismantling of extremist ideology, and this time there will be a diversity of participation, where imams and preachers will have a greater role in the conference."
