Egypt currently witnesses a critical period in its history facing a large number of challenges, including terrorism and conspiracies aiming to divide the country, said parliamentary candidate Abdel Rehim Ali on Friday. The Egyptian columnist, who serves as Al Bawaba News' editor in chief, praised the Martyr's Right military operation launched by the Egyptian army, stressing its importance to eliminate the terrorist organizations in Sinai. He added, in a statement, that such operation should be followed with other measures under the slogan "the Poor's Right" to eliminate corruption. Ali stressed the importance of the coming parliamentary elections, saying it is not less important than the current fight against terrorism, criticizing the 50-member committee that drafted an article to share the power between the president and the parliament. He warned that such an article limiting the authorities of Egypt's president could threaten the state's stability and put it on the edge of chaos.
