Security forces defuse IED near Cairo University

Egypt's security forces defused Thursday an improvised explosive device (IED) near the Cairo University, with no casualties reported, Al-Bawaba News reported.
Bomb disposal experts intensified their presence immediately to the area to scan it for other potential threats.
Egypt has been hit by a string of deadly blasts claiming hundreds of lives, mostly among security personnel since the ouster of former president Mohamed Morsi in July 2013.
