Egypt and Russia stressed on the importance of supporting the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons in Middle East in order to contribute to world's peace and security, Sada Al Balad reported Saturday. This came during a round of political consultations dealt with disarmament and non-proliferation issues in Moscow within the framework of continuous coordination between Egypt and Russia. Egypt's Foreign Ministry said that the meeting was attended by Foreign Minister assistant Hisham Badr and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov. Badr said that the Russian side reaffirmed its full support for Egypt's efforts to free the Middle East of nuclear weapons in accordance with non-proliferation treaty.
