Egypt's President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi warned of the terrorism expansion that threatens the Middle East as whole stressing that it could leave negative repercussions on the world. He added, in a statement to the Russian television, "I believe that Russian President Vladimir Putin realizes the current position in the region and the threats facing it." He signaled that the economic cooperation between Egypt and Russian topped the talks that gathered him with his Russian counterpart on Wednesday. He added that they also pledged to cooperate in combating terrorism, stressing the need for drafting an international strategy to confronting "this evil".
