Head of religious sector in the Ministry of Endowments, Mohamed Abdel Razek Omar, said Sunday in a statement to Al-Bawaba News that the ministry had a change of heart about removing employees running for parliamentary elections. Omar explained that each employee of the ministry has the right to run for the upcoming parliamentary elections, considering this as the individual's right to engage in politics, as ensured by the constitution. Sources close to Undersecretary of the ministry in Alexandria, Sabri Abada, told Al-Bawaba on condition of anonymity that Abada threatened Minister of Endowments, Mohamed Mokhtar Juma'a in a phone call, after Juma'a voiced his intentions to remove any employee running for the elections. The sources pointed out that Abada has sensitive documents related to Juma'a, which pushed him to reconsider his decision, out of fear that Abada may reveal them to the public.
