UN Special Envoy to Libya Bernardino Leon stressed Saturday on the importance of Egypt's role in the region and the world especially in Libya, Al Bawaba News reported. Leon said that Egypt supports the political solution and the participation of all parties in order to resolve the Libyan crisis, expressing his appreciation to Egypt's leading role during his meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry. He added that he discussed with Shoukry the latest developments of the situation in Libya and issues related to its political agreement. The UN envoy pointed out the solution of the Libyan crisis depends on the Libyan parties' dialogue, adding that there are a number of proposals about the formation of a national unity government. Leon stressed that the United Nations was keen to engage all Libyan parties in the political process, adding that this would be the first step for the crisis solution.
