Egypt's President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi met Tuesday with French parliamentary delegation, to discuss the importance of supporting the legitimate Libyan institutions, represented by the government and the Libyan national army, Al Bawaba News reported. The meeting was attended by the French parliamentary delegation, Egyptian Foreign Minister, Sameh Shoukry, French Foreign Minister, Laurent Fabius, the French Ambassador in Cairo, Andre Baran. Presidential spokesman, Ambassador, Alaa Yousef stated that French parliamentary delegation stressed on the distinguished relations between the two countries, and the steady growth and progress in various fields, nonetheless, Egypt's pivotal role in the Middle East and Africa. Members of the French parliamentary delegation expressed their concern over the extremists' ideology growth and terrorism spread in different parts of the world, especially the deteriorating security situation in Libya. The Spokesman added that the members of the French parliamentary delegation are looking forward to hearing the Egyptian vision on counter-terrorism and regional situation, especially the Libyan crisis, where Egypt's President expressed Egypt's concern regarding the stability of Libya and the Mediterranean region. Ambassador, Alaa Yousef added that Egypt is supporting efforts of the UN envoy to Libya, Bernardino Leon in this regard, which should be done in parallel with the international community to act urgently, take a decisive action to combat terrorism and halt money and weapons delivered to terrorist groups operating on Libyan territories.
