Ministry of Health announced Friday in a statement that 11 people died Thursday and 302 others were injured across the country, as a result of the enormous heatwave that has struck Egypt, Al Bawaba News reported. The ministry revealed that most of the 11 victims were elderly people, pointing out that 142 people left hospitals nationwide after receiving treatment. The statement read that several people were injured in a number of governorates, including 88 in Cairo, 36 in Qena, 11 in Sohag, 96 in Giza, 6 in Qaliubiya, 19 in Assiut, 3 in New Valley, 1 in Red Sea, 9 in Minia, 8 in Aswan, 1 in Mersa Matruh, 1 in Alexandria, 3 in Ismailia, 1 in Port Said, 5 in Suez, 1 in Gharbia and another in Al Sharqia.
