Egypt's police on Friday have intensified presence in the Red Sea province amid calls for violent protests by the banned Muslim Brotherhood group, al-Bawaba News reported. Security checkpoints have been set up near vital institutions and all streets have been combed, a high level police source said. This comes amid threats by the banned MB group to stage violent protests coinciding with the second anniversary of the Rabia sit-in dispersal on Aug. 14, 2013. The Red Sea regions are well known as tourist destinations. Since the ouster of the one-year rule of MB, July 2013, a series of terrorist attacks have hit the country, mostly in the restive Sinai Peninsula, claiming hundreds of lives. The MB group was listed as terrorist in Sept. 2013 according to a judiciary ruling.
