Muslim Brotherhood (MB) loyalists protested Friday illegally at Al Matareya, eastern Cairo, Al Bawaba News reported. This move comes coinciding with the intensified security presence near vital institutions in the neighborhood in anticipation of potential terrorist attacks by the MB that has been listed as a terrorist group since Sept. 2013. On Fridays, MB loyalists always stage violent protests across Egypt calling for the reinstatement of the ousted president Mohamed Morsi, who was overthrown, July 2013 amid mass street protests. Unauthorized protesting is criminalized in Egypt according to a protesting law issued by the interim authorities in 2013 following ousting Morsi.
