Cairo Criminal Court sentenced Monday 10 defendants to death, in the case publically known as "Al Zawahri Cell," and scheduled the verdict against other 58 defendants to September 27, al-Bawaba News reported. The sentence didn't include Mohamed al-Zawahri, the brother of al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahri. Defendants face charges of forming a terrorist cell in the case publicly known as "Al-Zawahri cell." The investigations revealed that the defendants pose a serious threat against the national security, since they established a terrorist organization seeking to overthrow the Egyptian regime. The defendants are also accused of attacking military and police personnel, churches, and committing terrorist acts to spread chaos in the country.
