Security forces detained Monday a Muslim Brotherhood terrorist cell in Beni Suef planning to carry out attacks to disrupt the inauguration ceremony of the new Suez Canal, Al Bawaba News reported. Homeland Security had informed the head of Beni Suef security directorate of the plans of the cell, which includes 11 MBs to carry out attacks to disrupt the celebrations of the inauguration of the canal. The security forces were able to detain them after increasing efforts, while they were hiding in a farm and found posters inciting against the Suez Canal project, in their possession. The security forces also found plans of disrupting the governorate's celebrations of the inauguration of the canal, in the possession of the cell members.
