Minister of Antiquities Mamdouh Al Damaty announced Sunday the commencing of renovating the Ramesseum temple of Pharaoh Ramesses II, to attract more tourists to the old city of Luxor, Al Bawaba News reported. On the sidelines of inaugurating the lighting project of Ramesseum and three archaeological tombs in Luxor, minister said that the project will make Luxor a touristic destination all the year, not only in winter season. The project includes providing the West Bank of Luxor with e-protection system and surveillance cameras, in order to encourage tourists to spend safe vacations in Egypt. Ramesseum is the memorial temple of Pharaoh Ramesses II, located in the Theban necropolis in Upper Egypt, across the River Nile from the modern city of Luxor.
