Egyptian Apache helicopters stroke early Friday terrorist hotbeds killing at least nine Wilayet Sinai militants and wounding others in North Sinai's Sheikh Zowied city, Sky News Arabia reported. Security sources said, on condition of anonymity, that military Apache launched two air strikes targeting separate groups of militants in Altomh and Abu Aeraj villages. The operation came a day after the military forces defused three explosive devices planted on a road targeting military armored vehicles. The Egyptian army has launched a wide range military campaign against the Sinai-based Wilayat Sinai terrorist group, formerly known as Ansar Bayt Al Maqdis, after it claimed responsibility for several attacks targeting Egyptian military and police personnel.
