Security forces on Saturday have intensified presence in Damanhur, northwestern Egypt, following a bombing near the city's central hospital, Al-Bawaba News reported. "Police vehicles are patrolling streets, and strict security measures have been taken to secure vital institutions," security sources said. Bomb disposal experts have swept the whole area in anticipation of other potential threats, the sources added. Since former president Mohamed Morsi was ousted July 2013, a string of deadly blasts have claimed hundreds of lives, particularly in the restive Sinai peninsula.
