Homemade bomb defused northeastern Egypt

Bomb disposal experts defused Saturday a homemade bomb in the Mediterranean city of Damietta, northeastern Cairo, police sources told Al-Bawaba News.The bomb was planted under a bridge on the Damietta-Ras Al-Bar Road, the sources added.
Egypt's police said earlier Saturday intensified security measures have been taken and a state of emergency has been imposed all over the country following terrorist attacks claiming three judges in the restive Sinai Peninsula after ousted MB president as well as 105 codefendants had been sentenced to death over jailbreak and espionage cases.
In Faiyoum, south of Cairo, a homemade bomb targeted a church, the police announced without revealing whether there were victims.
A statement issued Saturday by the MB Freedom and Justice Party threatened the current regime would pay price for the today's verdict, a move interpreted by police and observers as potential terrorist attacks.
