Egyptian army kills 12 IS-loyal militants in North Sinai

The Egyptian army killed Sunday 12 Wilayat Sinai militants in Sheikh Zuwaid, North Sinai, Al Bawaba News cited a military source as saying.
Special forces attacked the house where the 12 elements gathered, an exchange of gunfire erupted, leaving the elements dead, the source said.
The forces detonated the house and torched 3 cars and 3 motorcycles belonging to the terrorist elements, the source added.
Egypt's military has launched a relentless crackdown over terrorist groups in the restive Sinai Peninsula following a string of deadly blasts claiming hundreds of lives among security personnel and civilians, attacks for which the Islamic State (IS) offshoot,Wilayat Sinai claimed responsibilities.
