Egypt's Public Prosecution referred 319 suspects to military tribunal in two violence-related cases on Saturday, Al Masry Al Youm news reported on Sunday. The first case concerns 258 defendants, facing charges of killing policemen and vandalizing government buildings in Beni Suef Governorate following the dispersal of the Rabaa and Nahda sit-ins in August 2013. The other 61 defendants reportedly belong to the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) in the Menoufia and Damietta governorates, where they planted explosive devices and set fire to government buildings. Investigations showed that MB leaders had formed a military arm targeting police and army personnel to spread chaos across the nation.
