Joint Iraqi forces entered the city of Baiji's refinery in an attempt to regain control over the city and its refinery, after Islamic State (IS) seized them both, German Press Agency (DPA) reported Friday. The joint Iraqi forces consisted of Popular Mobilization Forces and federal police have entered Baiji refinery to the west and south, with a number of armored vehicles. They are preparing to liberate more than 300 policemen and some of the popular mobilization forces, surrounded by IS militants, as the forces took positions around the refinery in preparation for liberating it from IS' grip as well.
