Islamic State (IS) militants seized control late Monday of a supply route used by Iraqi forces near the city of Baiji, north of Baghdad, the German Press Agency (DPA) reported Tuesday. Iraqi security sources, who asked to remain anonymous, told DPA that IS militants had clashed with security forces, taking control of a supply route between the cities of Tikrit and Baiji. Iraqi anti-terrorism forces had succeeded late Monday in repelling an attack by IS militants on Baiji, leaving 14 dead.
