An Egyptian court in Suez, east of the capital city of Cairo, sentenced Wednesday 38 Muslim Brotherhood (MB) terrorists to three years in prison over terror-related crimes, judicial sources told Al-Bawaba News. The defendants, 24 in absentia, face charges of killing police personnel, sabotaging public property and distributing leaflets spurring violence against police and military forces, the sources added. On May 17, the Cairo Criminal Court sentenced MB leaders including ousted president Mohamed Morsi to death over crimes of espionage and prison break.
