An Egyptian court has rejected an appeal from 17 Muslim Brotherhood (MB) defendants in a terror-related case publicly known as the 'Podium events' case, Al Bawaba News reported Sunday. The court found the defendants guilty of murdering police personnel, illegal possession of guns, ammunition and explosives, blocking roads, and public property sabotage, judicial sources said. The ‘Podium' events took place during a sit-in the outlawed MB group staged at the Rabaa Square, east of Cairo, August 2013, calling for the reinstatement of ousted president Mohamed Morsi.
