A number of explosions took place in Cairo and other Egyptian provinces early Tuesday in a series of violent acts targeting state facilities, Youm7 reported. Three homemade bombs went off and another one was defused in Cairo's Tora district, causing limited damages to the roads. There was no report of any casualty. The civil security units have been combing the area to ensure there are no potential threats. In Nile Delta's El Gharbiya governorate, explosives experts managed to defuse two IEDs planted near an electricity pylon in Basyoun city. Electricity pylons became the target of assaults in separate areas in Egypt, as unknown assailants plant homemade explosives near them, causing power cut to the nearby areas. Egypt has witnessed a series of assaults following the death sentence issued Sunday by Egyptian court against former president Mohamed Morsi over charges of prison break.
