Military spokesperson, Mohamed Samir announced Sunday that the death toll of Sheikh Zuwaid terrorist attack has reached six deaths. Samir released a statement on his official Facebook page saying that two army officers and four soldiers were killed in the attack, adding that two other soldiers were wounded. Samir offered the Egyptian army's condolences to the families of the victims, wishing the injured full recovery. Earlier Sunday, the Sinai-based Wilayat Sinai terrorist group, formerly known as Ansar Bayt Al Maqdis, claimed its responsibility for the attack that targeted a military vehicle in Sheikh Zuwaid. Since September 2013, the Egyptian army has been carrying out an ongoing military campaign against Wilayat Sinai after it had claimed responsibility for several attacks targeting Egyptian military and police personnel.
